Differences with silver egret: A bill passed behind the eyes.
Breeding: blue green skin hairless face. Fine hairs on the body. Part black. Red hairy thighs. Black feet.
Breeding: Skin yellowish face. Usually black tipped yellow beak. Feet and legs black.
Iris yellow. Live alone or in groups. Stand a little straighter, peck prey from above. Courtship, couples dancing and chasing each other. Flying with wings slow and graceful, full of energy.
Food: fish, shrimp, grasshopper, dragonfly larvae. Nesting in colonies with other water birds. Nest of twigs that shallow, on top of the tree.
Eggs are pale bluish, the number of items 2-4.
Breeding months of December to March, from February to July.
Habitat Mangrove, scorched mud and sand, rice fields, lagoons.
